I set up my Zoom class meeting so students had to use UNC SSO to login. Then I preassigned breakout rooms. Two things happened during the actual class:
— Only about half the people were assigned to breakout room, I had to do the other half manually on the fly.
— Half a dozen students could not get into the class, even though they were logging into zoom.UNC.edu with their UNC SSO. The only thing that finally made it so those students could enter was me editing the settings so it said “UNC-CH only” instead of UNC SSO.
you can imagine how much class time this took! any thoughts? I’m having them work in the same groups in breakout rooms for several weeks, and I really don’t want to have to do it by hand every class.
