Essentials for Remote Teaching and Learning
“Essentials” is a new resource designed to help Carolina instructors and TAs create effective remote teaching and learning experiences this fall. Topics will help faculty and TAs make the transition to hybrid or remote teaching; apply research-based course design principles; align course goals, activities, and assessments; facilitate student interactions with attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and use best practices for grading and assessment. The Essentials resource will be offered in both asynchronous and synchronous formats.
- The asynchronous version is available here. Faculty and TAs can work through content at their own pace, focus on components most important to them, and participate in asynchronous course-type activities in Sakai.
- The synchronous version will be offered in an interactive workshop format on both July 7 and July 13.
Upcoming 45-Minute Workshops and Other Events
To help faculty and TAs plan their courses for Fall 2020, several brief 45-Minute Workshops will be offered. Please see the Keep Teaching Training page or CFE Calendar for a list of workshops, more details, and how to register. Topics include Resilient Teaching, Sakai tools, teaching with Zoom and Breakouts, PollEverywhere, Makerspace projects, and facilitating student interactions in hybrid or remote courses.
