Virtual Makerspaces

BeAM, the UNC network of makerspaces, has been instrumental in promoting and supporting active learning/Making in courses across campus. This mission continues even with the transition to more virtual learning. Indeed, creative approaches to active learning are even more important now! We encourage you to use this valuable campus resource to help you transition your creative/making projects to the remote learning environment.

Strategies and resources:

  • Set up a design/making course consultation with Anna Engelke, BeAM Education Program Manager
  • Ask students to go to to schedule feedback sessions with BeAM staff on design process, brainstorming feasibility, digital design software, etc.
  • Participate in the virtual Makerspace Course Design Institute on Thursday, July 9th
